EICRs & electrical testing

A&J Power Services Ltd carries out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) for homes, rental properties and commercial premises across Jarrow, Tyneside and the North East. Our inspection and testing work draws on City & Guilds 2391 qualifications.

 

Before your visit
Tell us the property type, approximate size, how it is used and any concerns. Previous reports and circuit information help us plan the inspection. We agree the scope, access arrangements and an estimated duration before the visit, and discuss planned power interruptions around the people using the building.

 

What happens during an EICR?
We inspect and test the agreed installation to assess its condition and identify findings that need attention or further investigation. The work goes beyond a quick visual check: inspection and testing produce recorded test results and schedules that support the condition report.

 

A typical domestic EICR takes around 1.5–4 hours, depending on the property and agreed scope. Commercial inspections can take several days. These are estimates: installation size, access and available records affect the time needed, which we discuss with you beforehand.

 

Understanding your report
After the inspection, we provide a clear condition report, including the inspection findings, test results and recommendations. We explain what has been identified and what the next steps mean for your home, rental property or business. An EICR assesses the existing installation; it does not automatically mean that everything needs replacing.

 

Remedial work and next steps
If repairs, improvements or further investigation are recommended, we discuss the options and provide a remedial-work quote promptly. The scope and timing of that work are agreed separately, so you understand what is proposed before proceeding.
